Shine Bright

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
- Matthew 5:16

It was just an old building that housed a company store decades ago, in the middle of a poverty-ridden area of West Virginia, deep in coal-mining country.

This old company store is now a place that is saving the lives and souls of countless coal-mining families in the area.

You see, this old company store houses our Bridge of Hope partner, the Dream Center, in Holden, West Virginia.

When I heard how devastated this area was and how the center had to stop providing hot meals to the needy because there simply was no food or money to continue, we filled two 18-wheelers with food and supplies and brought hope to the hurting in this area. Matthew 25:35 says, “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink.”

The more America hurts, the more the Church needs to step up and show God’s love. When everyone else is thinking of “me, myself, and I,” the Church finds its best opportunity to fulfill its role as the body of Christ and extend the strong arm of the Almighty to bring help and hope to those in despair.
